Job description

Our Customer is the world's leading music company that owns and operates a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content in more than 60 countries. They identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, and produce, distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world.

Overview:
We are seeking a Royalty Analyst on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This position will play a key support and technical role in the administration of various financial and reporting system tasks pertaining to the monthly client distribution/participation cycles. The Analyst will own certain distribution/royalty accounting functions, ensuring execution and continued alignment with the overall Finance department’s responsibilities, requirements and goals.

What You’ll Do:
• Set up artist & 3rd party royalty accounts
• Analyze 3rd party contracts for royalty obligations
• Link royalty accounts to new releases
• Review and administer royalty statements
• Review of detailed royalty revenue and expense reports
• Create and maintain detailed management reports (i.e. artist profiles)
• Assist with daily inquiries in a timely manner
• Assist with month-end tasks, perform other related duties and special projects as needed
• Overtime may be requested

Must Haves:
• Must possess strong skills using Microsoft Excel and be proficient in a Windows environment
• Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills
• Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast paced environment

Education:
Four-year college degree in Music Industry, Business, Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience - Artist Royalties experience

Hours & Location:
M-F, 40 hours/week. This position is located onsite at our Customer’s Woodland Hills, CA location. There is no remote capability for this role.
