We are seeking a Safety Policy Manager on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.
The Safety Policy team works across internal and external stakeholders to strengthen safety and well-being policies, tools, and partnerships. This role will focus on youth safety and well-being in relation to AI and requires a candidate with strong policy expertise, cross-functional collaboration skills, and experience advising on complex tech and policy issues.
Responsibilities:
- Work with internal and external expert stakeholders to inform content and product policies, tools, operational responses, programs, and resources
- Advise and support teams working on youth safety, public policy, content and product standards, operations, communications, and resources
- Partner with policy, operations, product, integrity, and program teams to support safe use of platforms for building connections and communities
- Identify and assess new and emerging issues related to safety, well-being, and AI
- Collaborate with experts, civil society, industry, and policy stakeholders to advance youth safety and well-being initiatives
- Represent the organization in meetings with policymakers, researchers, and key safety policy stakeholders
- Provide concise, business-focused advice and articulate policy rationale to diverse audiences
- Contribute to adversarial simulation, red-teaming, and safety-by-design discussions (preferred)
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in political science, policy, law, computer science, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in academia, technology, and/or policy sectors
- Strong experience engaging with policy stakeholders and policymakers in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build consensus with teams across public affairs, legal, operations, programs, and product functions
- Strong analytical and writing skills; detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
- Experience drafting and presenting formal policy documentation for diverse audiences
- Ability to provide pragmatic and creative solutions under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated knowledge of AI policy and technology issues, including key stakeholders, research, and industry trends (preferred)
- Experience advising on AI technologies, online platforms, or adversarial simulation/red-teaming methodologies (preferred)
