Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.


We are seeking a contract SAP MRP Functional Lead – S/4HANA to analyze and resolve complex MRP exception issues in the global SAP environment. The ideal candidate will have 20+ years of SAP experience with deep expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Materials Management (MM), and integration with Production Planning (PP) and Supply Chain processes. This role is critical to stabilizing the planning and raw material procurement processes and ensuring material availability for production. This role is 100% remote with a high preference for candidates who live in California.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, configuration, and maintenance of SAP MRP profiles and planning strategies within S/4HANA.
  • Run and monitor daily/weekly MRP programs, proactively identifying and resolving exceptions to ensure uninterrupted production and material availability.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Procurement, Production Planning, Sales & Distribution) to define and refine end-to-end MRP processes during blueprinting and implementation.
  • Analyze root causes of MRP exceptions and planning failures across multiple plants and materials; recommend and implement corrective actions and best practices.
  • Streamline and enhance business planning, inventory, and procurement processes by applying SAP best practices and governance standards.
  • Oversee integration touchpoints between MRP, MM, PP, and SD to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams, ensuring long-term sustainability of solutions.
  • Partner with the Business Applications team, in-house Solution Architects (Procurement and Supplier Collaboration), and offshore support resources to ensure system stability and performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of SAP experience focused on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Materials Management (MM).
  • Hands-on SAP S/4HANA implementation and configuration expertise (ECC-only experience is not sufficient).
  • Proven track record resolving large-scale MRP issues and optimizing planning processes in complex manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Consumption-based planning
    • Reorder point planning
    • Multiple MRP types, lot-sizing, and planning parameters
    • Integration with Production Planning (PP) and Sales & Distribution (SD)
  • Ability to lead functional workshops, blueprinting sessions, and decision-making with business users and executives.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work 100% on-site in Sunnyvale, CA (no remote or hybrid).
  • Local residency or ability to relocate before start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP Certification in MM or PP.
  • Prior consulting experience in large-scale or Fortune 500 environments.
  • Familiarity with Fiori apps and advanced planning tools (e.g., O9).
