We are looking for a contract Scrum Engineer to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.
This position supports 2-3 teams by facilitating Agile ceremonies and maintaining a consistent team cadence. This role removes impediments, partners with Engineering Leaders, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders to manage the backlog, and ensures clear documentation and communication. The Scrum Engineer tracks and reports team metrics such as velocity and burn down to support transparency. This position also supports basic project planning and status reporting to ensure alignment with delivery goals.
Responsibilities:
- Support two Agile teams to maintain an efficient operating cadence and facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives
- Facilitate team discussions and ensure proper documentation in collaboration with team members
- Identify and remove impediments or guide teams to appropriate resources for resolution
- Protect teams from external distractions and interruptions
- Support release planning and deployment strategy in partnership with release management
- Monitor and maintain sprint backlogs in coordination with engineering leaders, tech leads, analysts, and business stakeholders
- Assist with internal and external communications and project reporting
- Provide sprint reporting, including burndown charts, velocity tracking, and progress metrics
- Lead retrospectives and drive implementation of continuous improvement actions
- Support milestone planning, track deliverables, and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile project management, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks
- Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMP, or PMI-ACP
- Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills
- High level of situational awareness and focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to team support and delivery
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in fast-paced service delivery environments
- Experience supporting multiple Agile teams simultaneously
