We are seeking a Scrum Master on a contract basis who will support the Customer’s business needs. This role is on-site in Atlanta, GA.
NOTE: Candidates must have their own laptops if the company does not provide one.
The Scrum Master will serve as a servant-leader and Agile coach for cross-functional software development teams. This role ensures Agile principles and Scrum practices are consistently applied, supports continuous improvement, removes impediments, and helps teams deliver high-quality software increments. The position requires strong facilitation skills, a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, and the ability to foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Facilitation & Coaching:
- Serve as a servant-leader for one or more Agile teams.
- Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Coach team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile practices and Scrum values.
- Promote self-organization, cross-functionality, and team accountability.
Process & Delivery:
- Ensure adherence to Agile principles and Scrum best practices.
- Support the Product Owner with backlog prioritization and product vision clarity.
- Assist the team in making and meeting sprint commitments.
- Identify and remove impediments inhibiting progress.
- Foster continuous improvement through metrics, retrospectives, and feedback loops.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as the primary liaison between development teams and stakeholders.
- Encourage open, transparent communication within and across teams.
- Facilitate collaboration among developers, Product Owners, business partners, and other Scrum Masters.
- Help manage dependencies and alignment across multiple teams.
Metrics & Reporting:
- Track Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, and throughput to communicate progress.
- Use metrics to guide process improvements while avoiding metric misuse.
- Provide stakeholders with clear visibility into delivery status and team progress.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master for at least 2 years supporting Agile software development teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, including Scrum; knowledge of Kanban is a plus.
- Experience applying Scrum patterns and techniques to address gaps in the framework.
- Good knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, and TDD.
- Knowledge of additional Agile approaches such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, or FDD.
- Strong understanding of software development processes and modern engineering practices.
- Ability to identify and remove impediments effectively.
- Experience using Agile project management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

Preferred:
- 5+ years of Scrum Master or IT project management experience.
- Scrum Master certification, such as CSM or PSM (PSM II or CSP not required).
- Background in software development or IT project delivery.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
