Senior Associate Attorney (Dual Role: Firm Resource & Securities Practice Area Backup)
About Us
We are a boutique law firm of approximately 10 attorneys and 3 paralegals, practicing in securities, M&A and day-to-day contract drafting, review and negotiation. Our firm culture values collaboration, excellence, and a client-first mindset. We are seeking an experienced attorney to join us as a senior peer who will both serve as a resource for our lawyers across the firm and provide depth in one of our key practice areas.
Role Overview
This is a dual-function role designed to support the firm’s growth and efficiency:
1. Buffer / Legal Resource Role
This role would function as an intermediate support lawyer who:
- Fields day-to-day legal and procedural questions from your team.
- Provides first-level review of work product before it reaches you if the lawyer owning the matter feels that a review is needed.
- Acts as a mentor / trainer to less-experienced associates and paralegals.
2. Securities Practice Area Attorney Role
- Handles client matters when team member is unavailable (vacation, leave, high caseload).
- Helps grow capacity in this area.
- Eventually could help scale that practice area by training or mentoring future hires in it.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
- Minimum 7–10 years of practice experience, ideally with exposure to at least two of the firm’s focus areas.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior attorneys and provide constructive feedback.
- Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills.
- Excellent judgment, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative mindset and interest in contributing to firm-wide growth.
Why Join Us?
- Opportunity to shape a newly created, high-impact role that supports both firm efficiency and client service.
- Work directly with the Managing Partner and senior attorneys, while also serving as a mentor to junior lawyers.
- Be part of a boutique firm culture with entrepreneurial energy and strong client relationships.
- Gain leadership exposure without the administrative burdens of management.
