Job description

Our customer is a large United States insurance company that is backed by more than 100 years of experience and provides insurance products and services for businesses and professionals in the United States., Canada and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, they have more than 20 US locations.


We are seeking a contract IAM Controls & Governance Security Analyst to support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.


This is a senior‑level role accountable for the design, governance, and continuous improvement of the Identity & Access Management (IAM) control framework. This role serves as a subject‑matter expert in access governance, control validation, audit engagement, and SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ), ensuring IAM processes are risk‑based, compliant, and audit‑ready across the enterprise.



Responsibilities:

  • Own and govern the IAM control framework, including control design, documentation, and effectiveness testing
  • Conduct periodic IAM control assessments; identify gaps and lead remediation of control deficiencies and audit findings
  • Lead enterprise access reviews (user and privileged), including execution, validation, analysis, and process improvements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal audit, external auditors, and risk/compliance stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver audit evidence, control walkthroughs, and management responses for IAM processes
  • Provide governance oversight of SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ) configurations, including access certifications and RBAC
  • Partner with IAM engineering, security, and application teams to align technical implementations with policies and controls
  • Define, track, and report IAM metrics and KPIs to measure program effectiveness and maturity


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in IAM, security controls, or IT risk/governance roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ), particularly access certifications and governance workflows
  • Experience managing IAM controls and supporting SOX, SOC, or similar audit and regulatory requirements
  • Deep understanding of access governance, access reviews, privileged access, and RBAC concepts
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage auditors, risk partners, and senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise IAM programs
  • SailPoint certification or equivalent hands-on expertise
