Job description
The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a financial technology leader and bank holding company with a mission to power the banking industry’s branchless future.
Our Customer is seeking a contract Senior Accountant - Accounts Receivable to reconcile accounts receivable, apply cash receipts to invoices, process credit memos, and review and identify rate setup and discrepancies within the receivables module. This position has a key role on the Accounting team and assists with key aspects, including the month-end close process. The role will also set up various contracts in the ERP system to automate proper revenue recognition of transactions, record expenses, and ensure accurate revenue share to the partners.
This role is remote in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile accounts receivable transactions and apply cash receipts to invoices
- Process credit memos and manual invoices
- Review and identify rate setup discrepancies within the receivables module
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and AR reserve analysis
- Review retailer and partner contracts to understand revenue, invoicing, and revenue share requirements
- Configure and maintain contract setups within ERP systems to support automated revenue recognition and revenue share processing
- Coordinate with internal teams on product launches to ensure proper AR and revenue share system setup and testing
- Serve as a liaison between Accounting, FP&A, auditors, vendors, and other internal/external stakeholders
- Test and validate automated Oracle data feeds and system modifications
- Monitor AR aging reports and escalate overdue balances to business owners and external partners
- Upload daily sales feeds into the AR module as needed
- Investigate and resolve AR invoice and payment variances through contract review and data analysis
- Support compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements
- Partner with internal and external audit teams as needed
- Manage multiple accounting and reconciliation activities in a fast-paced environment
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of accounting, reconciliation, or accounts receivable experience preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills with experience handling large data sets
- Experience with large-scale ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS
- Experience reconciling high-volume AR transactions
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience supporting audits and internal controls processes preferred
