Senior Accountant

Fully Remote

Full-time

CST preferred, but not required

Salary range: 90K - 108K with a 10% bonus


Opportunity Overview


The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the companies' financial records by leading key accounting processes, including general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, cash management, and regulatory compliance.


This role plays a critical part in the monthly close process while partnering closely with the Controller to improve accounting processes and maintain strong internal controls.


The Senior Accountant serves as a technical accounting resource for the department and provides guidance and review of accounting activities performed by Staff

Accountants. This position reports to the Controller.


Essential Responsibilities


General Ledger Accounting

 Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

 Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through timely account analysis and

reconciliations.

 Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate unusual balances or

reconciling items.

 Maintain the fixed asset subledger and prepare depreciation entries.

 Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.

 Ensure accounting transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP and

company accounting policies.


Financial Close

 Prepare and review month-end journal entries and supporting documentation.

 Complete assigned account reconciliations within established close timelines.

 Analyze financial results and investigate material variances.

 Support continuous improvements to the monthly close process.


Cash Management

 Review vendor payment batches prior to processing.

 Process EFT and ACH payment files.

 Assist with cash forecasting support by ensuring timely recording of cash activity.


Compliance & Reporting

 Prepare annual 1099 reporting.

 Assist with sales tax and other required regulatory filings.

 Support internal and external audit requests.

 Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting.


Process Improvement

 Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, accuracy, and efficiency.

 Recommend automation opportunities and process enhancements.

 Assist with system implementations and accounting process improvements as

needed.


Team Collaboration

 Provide guidance and technical support to Staff Accountants.

 Review work completed by junior accounting staff for completeness and accuracy.

 Partner with departments across the organization to resolve accounting issues.


Ad-hoc Projects

 Support the Controller with special projects, system implementations, and other strategic finance initiatives.


To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Need


 Bachelor's degree in Accounting

 CPA preferred

 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience

 Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP


 Experience preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 Excellent attention to detail

 Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 Experience with NetSuite preferred

 Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
