We are seeking a Senior Accountant on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is hybrid; in-office 2-3 days per week (Right now it's a Tuesday and Thursday in-office pattern).


Our Senior Accountant performs a variety of professional-level accounting duties involved in preparing, verifying, reconciling, maintaining, and analyzing moderately complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. You will maintain the accuracy of the ledgers and financial systems; assist in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and quarter and year-end closings.



Responsibilities:

  • Process revenue transactions, reconcile loan servicing platforms with the general ledger, and ensure accurate documentation for revenue recognition.
  • Manage daily cash receipts, accounts receivable, and escrow balances for mortgage closings.
  • Record month-end journal entries and support monthly/quarterly financial statement analysis.
  • Review and validate commission calculations and accruals.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations; escalate issues as necessary.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements for SEC and regulatory filings.
  • Assist with SOX compliance and audits, including walkthroughs, audit schedules, and responding to auditor questions.
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets, regional, and global teams.
  • Lead or support ad hoc projects as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA a plus.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience.
  • Commercial real estate or banking industry experience preferred.
  • Advanced accounting and analytical skills.
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet application skills; PeopleSoft and AI tools are a plus.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and thrive in a dynamic environment.
