Job description

Our Customer is an endoscope manufacturer, offering systems for human and veterinary medicine as well as for industrial applications. They are headquartered in El Segundo, California.


Our Customer is seeking a Senior Accountant on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This role is hybrid in El Segundo, CA.



Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with accounting standards
  • Perform account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve reconciling items
  • Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by staff, providing feedback and guidance
  • Prepare financial analyses and commentary to support management decision-making
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
  • Lead accounting projects end-to-end, including planning, execution, stakeholder coordination, and follow-up
  • Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes
  • Create training materials and documentation to support onboarding and cross-training
  • Support system initiatives such as SAP S/4HANA upgrades, including testing and validation


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in public accounting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience leading and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams
  • Strong communication skills, including working with management and external auditors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP, particularly SAP S/4HANA
  • Audit experience, preferably in public accounting
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Exposure to AI tools or automation in accounting processes
