Job description

Senior Account

Part-Time, Permanent

24 hours/week (3 Days/week)

Onsite- Lake Forest, IL

Salary (Based on part-time schedule) $50,000-60,000 ($41-48/hour)


Our client is a small Family Office located in Lake Forest, IL. They are seeking an experienced senior account to join their team on a part-time basis three days a week.


Core Responsibilities

  • Administration of day-to-day accounting and management of books for a number of entities including an investment partnership, various operating entities, a private foundation and numerous trusts.
  • Money manager and bank reconciliations, general ledger entries.
  • Tracking capital calls and distributions for investments.
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly individual, trust and investment partnership financial reports.
  • Compiling and managing information for preparation of complex entity and trust tax returns, communicating with outside tax preparers, in-house preparation of simple 1065 and 1120S tax returns.
  • Collaborate with other staff members on any issues that arise.
  • Work with the CFO and CIO on special projects as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries as requested.


Qualifications/Skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field, CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience working for, or with, a family office, hedge fund, private equity fund, or fund administration, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Comfortable interacting with high level professionals, both internally and externally.
  • Strong proficiency with accounting software, Excel and Word.
  • Experience with preparation and review of 1065 and 1120S tax returns a plus.
  • Familiarity with alternative investments space, including hedge funds, real estate, private equity or venture capital a plus.
