Job description
Our customer is a large United States insurance company that is backed by more than 100 years of experience and provides insurance products and services for businesses and professionals in the United States., Canada and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, they have more than 20 US locations.
Our Customer is seeking a contract Senior AI Security Enterprise Architect to support their ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote - CST hours.
Responsibilities:
- Define and govern enterprise AI security architecture for AI-enabled solutions
- Develop 1–3-year enterprise architecture roadmaps aligned with business and AI security objectives
- Design conceptual and logical architectures across application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security domains
- Develop AI reference architectures, reusable security patterns, standards, guardrails, and governance models
- Establish secure-by-design principles for AI solutions, including identity, access management, data protection, model governance, API security, monitoring, and operational controls
- Guide the secure adoption of generative AI, agentic AI, machine learning, intelligent automation, and enterprise AI platforms
- Partner with business, development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, platform engineering, and data teams to deliver secure and scalable AI solutions
- Ensure AI implementations comply with enterprise security policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management standards
- Evaluate AI security threats and emerging risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Promote architecture standardization, modernization, portfolio optimization, technical debt reduction, and reusable design patterns
- Assess emerging technologies, AI platforms, and vendor solutions to support enterprise architecture strategy
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, technology teams, security stakeholders, and external vendors
- Serve as a technical advisor and thought leader on AI security architecture and enterprise architecture best practices
- Present architecture strategies and technical recommendations to executive and technical stakeholders
Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise, solution, application, infrastructure, or security architecture
- Experience developing enterprise technology roadmaps and target-state architectures
- Experience designing cross-domain enterprise solutions across application, data, infrastructure, cloud, integration, and security domains
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud platforms, APIs, event-driven architectures, and modern software engineering practices
- Experience implementing AI, machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI solutions in enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of AI security, including model security, prompt security, AI governance, data protection, identity and access management, and operational controls
- Knowledge of enterprise security frameworks, risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Experience evaluating enterprise technology platforms, vendors, and emerging technologies
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), enterprise architecture methodologies, and architecture frameworks
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated industries
- Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Anthropic Claude, AI agents, AI gateways, vector databases, or AI governance platforms
- Experience with secure AI development, AI threat modeling, model risk management, and responsible AI frameworks
- TOGAF, SABSA, CISSP, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or similar enterprise architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, or AI certifications
- Previous project leadership experience
