Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Senior AI UI/UX Engineer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.
This position is responsible for designing, developing, and validating user interfaces for a rapidly evolving Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) chatbot and multi-agentic applications. The role involves hands-on work in both UI/UX design and front-end development, ensuring seamless integration of new features, multiple Knowledge Bases, and multi-agent applications. The Senior AI UI/UX Engineer will work autonomously to identify solutions to given problems and align their work with future vision. The individual will be expected to validate their solutions from a UX perspective and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement UI for a RAG-based chatbot, ensuring scalability with continuous feature development and document ingestion.
- Develop multi-agentic applications within the GenAI portfolio, focusing on user-friendly, intuitive interfaces.
- Validate UI solutions through UX testing, user feedback, and data-driven evaluations
- Collaborate closely with the application development team to ensure seamless UI implementation and feature integration.
- Take a hands-on approach to UI development, being instrumental in ensuring smooth application development and the flow of new features.
- Bridge the gap between design and implementation with clear communication of requirements and design rationale to developers.
- Prototype and implement strong technical solutions that align with user experience and business needs.
- Conduct usability testing, evaluate feedback, and iterate design solutions to improve user satisfaction and performance.
- Collaborate with product owners, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless functionality across platforms.
- Provide design solutions autonomously, ensuring alignment with both current problems and future visions of the product.
- Maintain design consistency while managing the complexity and scope of multi-agent systems and evolving chatbot functionalities.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in UI/UX design and front-end technologies, incorporating best practices into the design process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in UI/UX design and front-end development, preferably in designing enterprise-level applications or systems.
- Strong proficiency in front-end development (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Vue.js).
- Extensive experience in user experience validation through usability testing, A/B testing, and feedback loops.
- Ability to create high-fidelity designs and prototypes using tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Experience designing and developing multi-agentic applications or complex systems with multiple integrations.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in problem-solving and solution development.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, able to translate technical requirements into user-friendly designs.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with chatbot development, particularly using RAG techniques or similar.
- Knowledge of multi-agent systems, AI/ML, and their application in enhancing user experiences.
- Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and version control tools (e.g., Git).
- Understanding of the Microsoft Azure platform or other cloud-based development environments.
