Job description

Our Customer is a consumer financial services company headquartered in Connecticut. The company offers consumer financing products, including credit, promotional financing and loyalty programs, installment lending to industries, and FDIC-insured consumer savings products through the consumer bank, its wholly owned online bank subsidiary.


We are seeking a Senior Azure IAM & Cloud Security Engineer (Remote 100% - Level 3) on a contract basis to support our customer’s ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote in EST hours.


This role will design, engineer, and maintain solutions that are used to manage access to Azure services and infrastructure, in support of their public cloud initiatives. This includes the development of automated pipelines with standardized least-privilege roles, personas, and request processes. Additionally, working across organizational boundaries to understand the technology ecosystem, evaluate new capabilities, and deliver innovative solutions to enable and scale access to cloud services.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, engineer, deploy, and document Azure IAM solutions in collaboration with application architects, lead engineers, product teams, information security, and risk management
  • Implement robust preventative controls and automation to strengthen Azure IAM access controls and minimize attack surfaces
  • Partner with technology product teams to develop innovative capabilities with the right solutions, access, and timing
  • Continuously improve Azure IAM engineering processes to reduce friction and accelerate cloud technology adoption at scale
  • Provide deep subject matter expertise on Azure IAM platform services, configurations, and best practices
  • Maintain a strong security posture through comprehensive compliance and continuous monitoring efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues


Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, a technical field, or Business Management, and at least 4 years of IT experience; or in lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of IT experience
  • 2+ years of experience engineering Azure IAM solutions
  • 2+ years of experience deploying infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Azure IAM processes, application integrations, workload support, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance
  • 2+ years of experience automating deployments with tools such as BitBucket/Git and Jenkins in line with DevOps and CI/CD best practices
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management principles and best practices on Azure

Looking for a Senior Azure IAM & Cloud Security Engineer to design, automate, and secure identity and access management solutions in Azure, with a strong focus on cloud security, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.


Preferred:

  • 10+ years of experience in an engineering function within Information Technology or Security
  • 5+ years of experience designing and engineering complex cloud-based solutions, with a focus on access management and/or information security
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure and/or multi-cloud architectures
  • Strong engineering and architecture skills, particularly within the domain of information security
  • Extensive experience with agile methodologies and iterative development
  • Proven ability to identify patterns and correlations within large and complex data sets
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple deliverables across cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to articulate technical requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Hands-on experience with Identity Governance & Administration (IGA)
  • Hands-on experience with Authentication and Authorization systems
  • Hands-on experience with Directory Services
  • Hands-on experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM)
  • Hands-on experience with Secrets Management
  • Experience designing and building resilient API/microservice-based solutions with DevOps integration and fully automated service delivery pipelines
  • Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards
  • Knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity laws, policies, governance frameworks, and regulations
  • Knowledge of IT risk management policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • One or more industry-recognized certifications such as Microsoft Azure, CCSP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, GISP, or CASP
