Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a biotechnology company that is rearchitecting the $1.1T pharmaceutical industry using web3. Their mission is to find every cure for every community by empowering patients and scientists to fund drug development via tokens. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for their Product & Engineering team. The Product & Engineering team works to create scalable, defect-free, and intuitive experiences and the infrastructure required to support them, in service of the community’s needs. While their token and governance system is on-chain, they're also building web2 interfaces for those who want them because they believe in minimizing friction and growing the web3 tent for anybody who wants to participate. This role is responsible for architecting the core systems that are essential for their mission to find every cure for every community, including DAO governance and pipeline management, identity management and credentialing, token-gated secure data access, and the token’s smart contract.

What You’ll Do (but is not limited to)

  • Be an essential part of their founding product team, working closely with UX and their Chief Product Officer as they design the experiences at the center of their mission to put patients back at the center of cure development.
  • Identify the systems and standards they should integrate with or build themselves, both on- and off-chain.
  • Architect scalable designs, implementation processes, and deployment pipelines
  • Build a culture that minimizes development friction with investments in tooling, testing, engineering-owned DevOps, and peer support.

Your Qualifications

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on back-end systems development
  • Experience coding with modern software languages (i.e. TypeScript, Python, Node.JS, etc)
  • Comfortable working in a highly dynamic remote startup environment with mission-driven teammates
  • Demonstrated high-impact technical leadership experience.
  • Passion for team- and process-building that emphasizes quality while centering both their users and their development team

How we help you (Benefits)

Working here is a two-way street: they invest in you as much as you invest in them. Here are the employment benefits they provide:

  • Work remote
  • Competitive salaries, stock options, and tokens
  • Comprehensive benefits for you and your family (low premiums and deductibles!) including medical, dental, and vision
  • Flexible hours, time off, and leave policies
  • Periodic get-togethers in-person
  • Executive coaching services

Equal Opportunity Employment

Our client is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at their company. They provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.

About

Our client is building the largest community of patients, scientists, and doctors with the goal of finding every cure for every community. Through the power of web3, they are organizing this collective as a DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) and issuing the token to facilitate governance. Through this DAO, communities are empowered to raise capital via token sales to fund drug development programs. As these programs progress, proceeds (e.g. licensing, royalties, etc.) can be used to fund future work. They have raised $10M+ in venture capital and are launching their first drug programs and partnerships this year.
