Responsibilities:

  • Drive proactive product communications initiatives across consumer-facing product areas, including communication features, subscription offerings, safety products, location-sharing experiences, and AI-powered innovations.
  • Develop and execute storytelling programs that highlight product experiences, user connection, self-expression, safety, and innovation.
  • Pitch stories and announcements across technology, mainstream, consumer, business, and hardware media outlets.
  • Draft clear and compelling communications materials, including newsroom posts, messaging documents, talking points, and announcement materials.
  • Organize press briefings, product demonstrations, and media engagements.
  • Prepare spokespeople for interviews, media appearances, and speaking opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, marketing, legal, policy, partnerships, and other teams on campaigns, launches, and events.
  • Partner with agency teams to support media strategy development and execution.
  • Track media coverage, measure communications impact, and refine strategies based on insights and performance data.
  • Support coordinated communications efforts across global teams and stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple communications initiatives simultaneously within fast-paced environments.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in product communications or related communications roles.
  • Strong background in consumer (B2C) technology PR.
  • Experience with or exposure to major tech or social platforms (e.g., Meta, YouTube, Reddit, X, etc.) is highly preferred - agency experience is acceptable if the candidate has worked on relevant consumer tech accounts.
  • Strong experience supporting consumer technology product and feature launches.
  • Strong relationships with reporters across mainstream, technology, consumer, business, and hardware media.
  • Ability to execute quickly and reliably (delivery-focused, meets deadlines, produces quality work).
  • Experience shaping and managing complex platform and product narratives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong storytelling, messaging, and media pitching capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive within fast-paced and evolving environments.
  • Experience preparing spokespeople and managing media engagements.
  • Experience measuring communications impact and analyzing media performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting communication and connection platforms.
  • Established media relationships.
  • Experience supporting subscription-based products.
  • Experience supporting safety initiatives or location-based experiences.
  • Experience supporting consumer-facing AI products.
  • Experience partnering with global teams on coordinated communications efforts.
