Job description

Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.

Our Customer is seeking a Senior Copywriter on a contract basis to help support their business needs.

This writer will be embedded within the marketing team supporting a membership and subscription program, serving as a dedicated partner across ongoing campaigns, experiments, and product-driven initiatives. The primary focus will be on this program during the one-quarter contract, with occasional contributions to broader brand or growth initiatives as needed.

This is a high-visibility, high-velocity workstream requiring the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced, experiment-driven environment where briefs evolve, inputs shift, and priorities change quickly. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, translating complex information into clear and compelling messaging, and delivering high-quality work at speed.

This role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead copy development across lifecycle and performance marketing channels, including email, push notifications, in-app messaging, paid media, landing pages, and product surfaces
  • Translate complex membership mechanics, promotional offers, and product updates into clear, compelling customer-facing messaging
  • Write and optimize copy for experiments and iterative testing, adapting quickly based on performance insights
  • Balance planned campaign initiatives with rapid-response and ambiguous requests
  • Maintain a clear, conversational brand voice across channels, ensuring messaging is simple, engaging, and consistent
  • Develop lower-funnel and promotion-heavy messaging that drives conversion while remaining engaging and precise
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ensure all messaging aligns with brand standards and legal/compliance requirements
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Navigate cross-functional feedback and refine messaging based on stakeholder input

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-8+ years of copywriting experience in-house or within an agency environment
  • Strong background in performance, lifecycle, and growth marketing
  • Direct experience supporting membership or subscription-based products
  • Experience designing and supporting large-scale A/B testing initiatives
  • Experience working in fast-moving, product-driven environments
  • Proven experience writing conversion-focused, performance-driven copy
  • Experience working with technology or consumer brands with a defined voice and strong creative standards
  • Demonstrated ability to write promotionally complex or offer-heavy messaging
  • Strong command of brand voice with the ability to craft clear, conversational, human-centered copy
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and translate evolving briefs into focused messaging
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with fast execution
  • High attention to detail, particularly when working with promotional and legally sensitive copy
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with app-based or marketplace business models
  • Availability for a full-time contract (40 hours per week) for a one-quarter engagement

We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
