Job description

Our customer is seeking to fill a Sr. Counsel, Product position. This is a contract role that will start ASAP and is 100% remote. Looking for an experienced product counsel (5-8 years) with a strong background in technology, consumer protection and privacy (GDPR and U.S. state privacy) laws. Prior in house experience is strongly desired, especially if that experience is at a large tech company or adtech player.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 5-8 years of counsel experience
- Understanding of global privacy laws, youth laws, and regulatory practices
- Privacy or AI expertise within the tech industry
- Previous experience with a tech company, or big law experience, or product counseling experience
- Provide product counsel to a social media product and engineering teams on new product launches and features
Responsibilities:

Product and privacy counseling on new product launches

Supporting regulatory inquiries and responses, and our processes relating thereto

Special projects, including helping us build an effective team knowledge base
The best candidates would be those who are already familiar with the legal and regulatory challenges of either large technology platforms or adtech companies, or ideally both. Looking for someone who is detail oriented and can work in fast-paced environment.
Education:
- J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar
Hours & Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This role is 100% remote
