Job description

Our Customer is an American worldwise clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are availabile in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.


We are seeking a Men's Woven Senior Designer on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is on-site in NYC.



Responsibilities:

  • Research global markets to identify seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques, and competitive insights, with a focus on outerwear and shirting
  • Analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable design concepts and opportunities
  • Develop concepts, sketches, and CADs for mainline collections and present ideas to leadership
  • Maintain and assemble presentation boards for internal and external reviews using tools such as Miro and CAD platforms
  • Partner with merchandising, production, technical design, sourcing, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution from concept to market
  • Collaborate with production and technical design teams to create tech packs and communicate design intent, fit, and quality standards
  • Track and follow up on design development for each style to ensure timely execution
  • Participate in weekly fittings to ensure product meets design, fit, and quality expectations
  • Support and lead key design initiatives and product development efforts
  • Contribute to a customer-focused, trend-forward design approach with a strong point of view


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in fashion or product design with a focus on apparel
  • Strong ability to research and interpret global fashion trends
  • Proficiency in sketching, CAD design, and digital presentation tools
  • Experience creating tech packs and working closely with production and technical teams
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabric selection
  • Ability to manage multiple design projects and timelines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and execution
