Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is centered on Content Lab and other curated email campaigns, seller- and community-focused campaign moments, related landing pages, and curated pushes that extend the email experience across channels. Julie may contribute to other REM and onsite copywriting needs as priorities evolve.

Key responsibilitiesCurated email content
  • Draft and refine copy for Content Lab and other curated email campaigns, including subject lines, preview text, headlines, body copy, module copy, and calls to action.
  • Translate campaign briefs, merchandising direction, and editorial concepts into engaging, customer-centered stories.
  • Develop copy that balances Etsy’s distinctive brand voice with clarity, relevance, discovery, and strong customer value.
  • Adapt copy for established templates, modular content systems, and campaign-specific formats while maintaining cohesion across the full email experience.
  • Incorporate feedback from editorial, REM, Merchandising, Brand, Design, and other partners through final delivery-ready copy.
Curated push content
  • Create copy for curated pushes that correspond to curated email campaigns, including Content Lab moments and other editorial or seller-focused programming.
  • Translate the core campaign idea into concise, channel-native push copy while preserving continuity with the associated email and landing page.
  • Provide copy options or variants when needed to support testing, audience differences, or campaign requirements.
Seller-themed campaign moments
  • Develop copy for campaigns that highlight Etsy sellers, makers, shops, seller impact, and the human stories behind the marketplace.
  • Shape seller-centered narratives that feel authentic, specific, and respectful while remaining accessible and compelling to buyers.
  • Partner with relevant REM, Merchandising, Brand, Social, and other stakeholders to incorporate approved seller information, quotes, and supporting context.
  • Support recurring or seasonal seller-focused franchises and one-off campaign moments as assigned.
Landing page and onsite copy
  • Draft and refine copy for landing pages connected to curated email and push campaigns, with a focus on seller-themed, impact, seasonal, and editorial moments.
  • Create headlines, introductory copy, section copy, calls to action, and supporting narrative that carry the campaign idea from offsite channels into the onsite experience.
  • Help ensure that email, push, and landing page copy form a clear and cohesive customer journey.
  • Pitch in on other onsite copywriting needs, including stash collection copy, content refreshes, and supporting modules, as priorities and bandwidth allow.
Reporting and insights
  • Use performance learnings to inform future copy, subject-line approaches, campaign formats, and editorial recommendations.
Collaboration and ways of working
  • Report to Nadine Heintz, who sets priorities, confirms scope, and provides overall direction.
  • Work closely with Personalized Content leads, REM partners, Merchandising, Brand, Design, Operations, Analytics, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple briefs and deadlines with strong organization, proactive communication, and clear status updates.
  • Use Etsy’s brand voice, content quality standards, accessibility guidance, and established review processes.
  • Core responsibilities take priority; additional REM and onsite support should flex based on the campaign calendar, deadlines, and available bandwidth.
Ownership guardrails
  • Julie owns drafting, iteration, copy development, and reporting support within assigned workstreams.
  • Campaign strategy, prioritization, final approvals, channel implementation, and launch decisions remain with Nadine and the designated campaign or channel owners unless explicitly reassigned.
  • Julie is expected to surface risks early, clarify open questions, and flag dependencies that could affect quality or timing.
What success looks like
  • Curated email, push, and landing page copy is clear, cohesive, on-brand, and delivered on time.
  • Seller- and community-focused stories make Etsy’s human value more visible without feeling generic or overly promotional.
  • Curated pushes reinforce their related email campaigns while respecting the needs of the push channel.
  • Reporting is accurate, concise, and useful for improving future content decisions.
  • Julie provides reliable, flexible copywriting support across REM and onsite priorities while maintaining quality and clear ownership.
Experience and skills
  • Demonstrated experience writing and editing for email, CRM, editorial, content marketing, ecommerce, or digital experiences.
  • Strong command of concise, engaging copy across multiple formats and channels.
  • Ability to turn complex briefs, merchandising inputs, and performance data into clear recommendations and customer-facing content.
  • Experience with seller, creator, maker, community, or human-centered storytelling is a plus.
  • Highly organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working through feedback and changing priorities.
