Senior Full Stack Engineer – React, TypeScript & PHP (Remote)

The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Senior Full-stack Engineer to join their team on a contract basis.

About The Team

The Buyer Experience Web teams are focused on enhancing the user journey throughout the Etsy marketplace, focusing on creating high-quality Discovery, Search, and Listing experiences. We work to reduce friction for our buyers, making sure they have an easy and inspiring experience throughout their buying journey. We also work to improve performance and architecture to pave the way for future product features.

We are a cross-functional product development team consisting of engineers, product managers, designers, product marketers, data analysts, and user researchers. We collaborate closely and learn via data, user interviews, experimentation, and iteration so that we can take a holistic approach to improving the buyer experience.

About The Role

For this role, we are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer – React, TypeScript & PHP with web development experience. This engineer will be expected to ramp up on the codebase quickly, deliver work with minimal guidance, and further refine moderately complex, loosely scoped projects.

Skills and Qualifications:

• You have 5+ years of proven web development experience and are excited to grow along with the team.
• You have experience building web applications, using both back-end and front-end technologies (we use PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/Typescript, and React)
• You are comfortable collaborating closely with product managers and designers, providing estimates or product ideas that will influence your team’s roadmap.
• You take pride in owning work from ideation through completion.
• You are a mindful, transparent, and thoughtful communicator.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any experience with Scala, Airflow, or a basic understanding of ML algorithms and recommendation systems is a bonus.
• You thrive when faced with customer and product-focused challenges and care as much about building great products as you do writing great code.
• You love to experiment and use both quantitative and qualitative methods to drive decision-making.
• You enjoy being a mentor and mentee.

Hours and Location:

• M-F, 40 hours/week
• 100% remote - EST preferred
