Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Senior HR Solutions Architect on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote; candidates in Sunnyvale, CA, or Peachtree Corners, GA are preferred.
This role focuses on designing and delivering effective, user-centered solutions in Workday
As a trusted partner to stakeholders across HR, IT, and the business, you’ll drive improvements in workflows, employee data management, reporting, and system automation. You will serve as a key contributor to Workday roadmap initiatives, guiding both strategic projects and day-to-day system operations.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the owner of the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Workday HCM, including Core, Benefits, Absence, and Reporting, ensuring alignment with HR strategy and business priorities.
- Assess new Workday functionality and complementary tools, providing recommendations based on long-term value, scalability, and employee experience.
- Lead special projects, including mergers and acquisitions and country expansion initiatives.
- Drive end-to-end product delivery, including discovery, requirements definition, solution design, configuration, testing, launch, and continuous optimization.
- Partner with leadership to define people data and reporting standards and governance practices.
- Maintain the integrity and reliability of people reporting systems to ensure ongoing alignment with organizational needs and objectives.
- Design, develop, and maintain Workday reports, including Advanced, Matrix, Composite, and BIRT reports using Report Writer and Report Designer.
- Develop interactive dashboards and Hubs that provide actionable insights for leaders, managers, and employees.
- Maintain documentation for reporting standards, processes, and reporting catalogs to support governance.
- Provide user training and hands-on support for product launches and enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, and Analytics, to customize people reporting and test new applications and features.
- Assess current systems and utilization, identifying opportunities for training, customization, and enhancements to maximize reporting efficiency.
- Build and execute implementation plans covering discovery, design, QA, testing, deployment, and support using Agile methodologies.
- Develop test plans and test scripts, and execute testing to ensure bug-free reporting solutions.
- Ensure solutions in development meet business requirements by serving as the primary liaison across teams.
- Manage Workday releases and upgrades, including testing and validation of reporting functionality.
- Identify product development risks and develop mitigation plans to address data quality and system issues.
- Partner with IT to ensure compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Provide ongoing feedback to teams to support product adoption and continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with vendors and technology partners.
- Collaborate with employee support and project management teams on documentation, communication, and training.
- Partner with Finance and IT to provide documentation supporting internal controls and SOX compliance.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of experience developing business requirements, deploying technologies, and driving business process re-engineering.
- 10+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience, including business processes, condition rules, custom fields, and security.
- 4+ years of experience developing, coaching, or managing technical or operational teams.
- Strong experience with Workday Reporting, including custom reports and complex calculated fields.
- Experience implementing dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM modules, including Core, Benefits, and Absence.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
- Experience with product delivery, solution design, testing, and Agile implementation.
- Strong project management and process improvement skills.
- Ability to identify and mitigate risks related to data quality and system performance.
- Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements, including SOX.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Workday Prism and Hubs.
- Experience with AI for HR, knowledge management, or case management tools.
- Experience in HR technology product development or custom application development.
- Experience with Scrum or Agile delivery methodologies.
- Experience with full lifecycle HR technology implementations.
- Workday certification and/or Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Familiarity with US and global data privacy regulations, including GDPR and SOX.
- Strong ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Experience working in global organizations supporting employees across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
