Job description
Our customer is a large United States insurance company that is backed by more than 100 years of experience and provides insurance products and services for businesses and professionals in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, they have more than 20 US locations.
We are seeking a Senior Paralegal on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file documents with regulatory agencies, including the Department of Insurance and the Secretary of State
- Draft, review, and submit board and committee materials, certifications, and corporate documents
- Conduct legal and corporate research and summarize findings into reports
- Prepare SEC Section 16 filings, including Forms ID, 3, 4, and 5
- Manage NYSE filings and submissions through Filing Manager systems
- Prepare foreign filings and regulatory questionnaires
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance and timely completion of filings
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive legal and corporate information
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance or regulatory environments
- Strong knowledge of insurance regulatory processes and filing requirements
- Experience preparing and submitting filings to regulatory agencies
- Expertise in board-level documentation and corporate governance materials
- Proficiency in legal and corporate research and report analysis
- Familiarity with EdgarNext and NYSE Filing Manager systems
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Experience with UCAA applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification
