Job description
Our customer is a large United States insurance company that is backed by more than 100 years of experience and provides insurance products and services for businesses and professionals in the United States, Canada, and Europe. Headquartered in Chicago, IL, they have more than 20 US locations.
We are seeking a Senior Paralegal (Part time) on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site) in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file documents with regulatory agencies, including the Department of Insurance and the Secretary of State
- Draft, review, and submit board of directors and committee materials, certifications, and other related corporate documents
- Conduct legal and corporate research; analyze and summarize findings and reports
- Prepare Securities & Exchange Commission Section 16 filings including Form ID, 3, 4 & 5
- Prepare NYSE filings and submission through Filing Manager
- Prepare foreign filings and related regulatory questionnaires
- Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance and timely completion of assignments
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism
Skills/Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of insurance regulatory processes
- Strong understanding of filing requirements for the Department of Insurance and Secretary of State
- Expertise in document preparation for board of directors and committee consents
- Proficient in legal and corporate research methods and report analysis
- Familiarity with EdgarNext and NYSE Filing Manager databases
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrate capacity to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal certification preferred
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a paralegal, with a focus on insurance or regulatory matters
- Experience preparing and filing documents with regulatory agencies and supporting board-level activities
- Experience handling UCAA applications
