We are seeking a Payroll Associate on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is onsite in Chicago, IL.
What You'll Do:

Payroll Administration:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processes, including data entry, calculations, and deductions for multiple states.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax requirements.
- Validate payroll data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepancies.
- Stay up to date with changing payroll laws and regulations.
- Answers employee payroll inquiries in a fast and efficient timeframe

Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Generate required ad hoc and standardized reports.
- Conduct audits to validate the accuracy and integrity of payroll data.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on data analysis.

Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for streamlining payroll processes, improving efficiency, and enhancing data integrity.
- Participate in system enhancements and upgrades, providing input on payroll system requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as HR, Finance, and Legal, to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on multi-state payroll administration.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems specifically SAP GV ADP and Workday.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
