Job description

Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.


Our customer is looking for a Senior Procurement Consultant on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Milwaukee, WI.



Responsibilities:

  • Execute and manage all processes across the vendor lifecycle, including contract development, negotiation, execution, and post-signature management
  • Partner with business partners and functional leaders to identify vendor management opportunities that balance risk and maximize supplier value
  • Support technology category strategies and sourcing engagement strategies
  • Lead strategic vendor sourcing initiatives, including RFx execution and negotiation of technology agreements such as EULAs, SaaS, and cloud contracts
  • Direct contract lifecycle management, including evaluation, selection, transition, and ongoing monitoring of agreements
  • Manage vendor risk processes to ensure appropriate due diligence and risk mitigation through collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Measure and monitor vendor performance and manage vendor relationships to drive performance improvement, issue resolution, contingency planning, or disengagement when necessary
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies using cost-benefit analysis, market research, and should-cost modeling
  • Lead cross-functional negotiations to achieve optimal outcomes related to cost, quality, and contractual terms
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate supply, contractual, and regulatory risks in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Data Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Audit teams
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships across the enterprise to monitor partner satisfaction and create synergies across accounts


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or vendor management
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to address complex issues
  • Proven ability to analyze strategic challenges and advise senior leadership on potential actions and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, and vendors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operational or procurement experience supporting technology environments, including software, SaaS, or cloud computing
  • Experience cultivating external professional networks or industry relationships
