Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role role is hybrid in Sunnyvale, CA.
The Program Manager for PMO (Project Management Office) Governance is responsible for establishing and managing PMO processes, tools, and governance to optimize service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and manage the PMO operating model to support portfolio planning and project/program execution.
- Develop and drive portfolio/program/project management best practices and standards that will improve productivity, investment decision making and realize targeted business outcomes.
- Manage the PMO Playbook to support project delivery, framework, related tools, and templates.
- Gain cross-functional alignment on the proposed PMO process, governance strategies, goals and timelines.
- Responsible for providing a framework to oversee and track project financials and monthly/quarterly forecasting.
- Provide leadership to mature resource capacity and demand planning.
- Responsible for providing a framework to monitor and track projects of various portfolios to ensure PMO guidelines are followed.
- Collaborate with project managers and portfolio managers of various service teams to optimize PMO process and bring consistency in portfolio planning and project execution.
- Develop project metrics, success criteria and KPIs to measure effectiveness of the service delivery.
- Create change management plan, and adoption strategies to rollout new SDLC processes and PMO tools.
- Embed knowledge management framework to onboard and train new PMs.
- Drive prioritization of activities to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Develop talent, engage and support employees to build collaborative team culture.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related area is desired.
- Minimum 10 years of experience involved in leading major cross-functional projects in ERP related applications.
- Experience in running multiple cross-cultural/global teams and projects.
- Strong understanding of various SDLC methodologies including Waterfall and Agile. And knowledge of ITSM and ITIL frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead, influence and work well at all levels of an organization and in a cross functional team environment.
- Ability to handle ambiguity effectively and oversee multiple initiatives at once.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data, set actionable goals and drive metrics and execution.
- Proven teamwork, people management, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in PMO processes and tools.
- Strong understand of project financials, portfolio planning and prioritization activities.
