Job description

With roots dating back to the 1800s, our Customer is a global professional services firm HQ’d in New York City with businesses in insurance brokerage, risk management, reinsurance services, talent management, investment advisory, and management consulting. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote/week) in Midtown Manhattan.



Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of financial systems projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to quality standards
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements
  • Execute full project management lifecycle activities using Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Manage global projects across regions, including North America, EMEA, and LATAM
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to keep delivery on track
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including C-level leaders, core teams, and extended project teams
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and milestones to senior leadership and sponsors
  • Manage project resources to ensure effective and efficient utilization
  • Ensure project deliverables meet defined quality standards and governance requirements
  • Manage change control for scope, schedule, and budget adjustments
  • Ensure timely and efficient project closure with all deliverables completed
  • Operate as a 100% individual contributor, independently leading meetings and driving execution
  • Ramp up quickly, take ownership early, and proactively drive progress
  • Work in a hybrid environment with regular in-office collaboration

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-10 years of project management experience
  • Proven experience managing financial systems projects
  • Experience delivering at least 5 full project lifecycles, preferably within multinational organizations
  • Background with financial systems such as Oracle EBS or SAP
  • Experience using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Strong expertise with project planning and project management tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, dynamic environments with a proactive mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certification
  • Experience engaging directly with C-level stakeholders
  • Ability to ramp quickly and operate independently within the first 30 days
