The Senior Analyst, Reporting & Analytics PI role is responsible for the implementation of reporting solutions and analytical tools to bring clarity and efficiency to Grainger Product Information business operations. You will use your proficiency in data and systems to translate requests into accurate, useful information that creates improved visibility and operations, and you will look for ways to improve the effectiveness of the department as our strategy evolves. This role will drive operational efficiency while establishing relevant analytics guiding the desired process outcomes. The Senior Reporting Analyst’s work will significantly impact processes involving 100+ team members reviewing products with sales of over 1 billion dollars annually. This Senior Business Analyst will ensure our process work follows established PI goals, project plans, and clear timelines but with the agility to respond to organizational needs. This role will report to the Manager, PI Business Process.
Responsibilities:
- Work with partners and teams to determine requirements for ad-hoc tools and reports, and translate them into a final product that creates improved service and reduced costs
- Use various tools, such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI, Snowflake, Teradata, Smartsheet, Atlassian Apps, and more
- Create accurate tools and reports and assist our partners in making informed decisions to manage Product Information KPIs
- Simplify basic and complex reporting processes
- Develop experience with industry-available tools for information and reporting design
- Prepare recommendations to solve ambiguous and complex issues, then manage those recommendations to completion
- Support end-users and team members on reporting techniques and system usage
- Be a liaison between business leaders and users in Grainger's Merchandising department and Grainger's Technology Group
- Participate on teams and projects to ensure Supplier Performance Management processes, concerns, and business issues are addressed for increased productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction/service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3-5 years of related experience in data management and analytic reporting
- Experience with the concepts and advanced use of computerized data management systems including SAP, Snowflake, Power Apps, and Power BI
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions), Access, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), and other reporting tools and interfaces
