Their core products include advanced firewalls and cloud-based offerings that extend those firewalls to cover other aspects of security. We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role will be hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote/week) in Santa Clara, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly analyses and journal entries for revenue, deferred revenue, and related accounts, and perform reconciliations related to manual 1) acquisition accounting (including ad hoc end-of-life analyses), 2) non-standard transactions, and 3) Marketplace transactions
- Prepare flux analyses, research the discrepancies, and explain the root cause
- Coordinate and maintain a detailed status tracker of cross-functional open items
- Assist with other special projects, as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or related discipline, CPA preferred
- 4+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and operations in the technology industry. Big 4 and relevant industry experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Hardware, Software, and SaaS revenue guidance in US GAAP, with ASC 606, and understanding of revenue-related metrics (RPO and ARR)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to perform thorough analyses
- Critical thinker with a risk-based approach mindset and strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working with NetSuite preferred
- Experience working with SAP S4/HANA preferred
- Excellent knowledge of SAP, Tableau, and SFDC is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Suite
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Motivated self-starter who takes initiative and drives projects to conclusion
- Effective communicator with all levels of management and cross-functional organizations
