The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a Senior Security Engineer to join them on a contract basis.
About the team:
Etsy is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our Security Operations team. As part of the larger Security and Privacy Engineering organization, this group of teams plays a pivotal role in protecting and responding to threats to our data, applications, systems, and infrastructure. Security Operations is responsible for managing our strategy, technologies, and execution of threat detection, corporate security, threat intelligence, and more.
Role Responsibilities:
As a senior member of the Security Operations team, you will be a hands-on security engineer. This involves: engineering log ingestion pipelines, building integrations between security tools, automating alert triaging workflows, writing new detection logic, analyzing security events, participating in incident response, and contributing to security engineering projects and workstreams. You will collaborate with members of the broader security and engineering organizations to support our security efforts.
Required Education/Certifications:
This position requires 3+ years of experience with Incident Response, as on-call duties are a major part of the role. This role also requires solid experience with programming including at least 4+ years of experience with Python, and ideally 2+ years of experience with Github as well. Experience with SIEM tools is also key, and any specific experience with Google SecOps SIEM (formerly known as Chronicle SIEM) would be a major plus. This experience should include things such as setting up log ingestion, writing parsers, and detection engineering.
Hours and Location:
Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week. 100% Remote for US based candidates with EST scheduled preferred.
