Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
Our Customer is seeking a contract Workday Solutions Architect – HRIS, Compensation & Talent with deep expertise in Workday to support, enhance, and scale their global HR systems. This role focuses on designing and delivering effective, user-centered solutions in Workday
As a trusted partner to stakeholders across HR, IT, and the business, you’ll drive improvements in workflows, employee data management, reporting, and system automation. You will serve as a key contributor to Workday roadmap initiatives, guiding both strategic projects and day-to-day system operations. This role is 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the owner of the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for Workday Talent, Performance, and Compensation
- Align product strategy with HR priorities and overall business goals
- Collaborate with HR leaders to translate program goals into scalable Workday solutions
- Evaluate new Workday features and complementary tools, providing recommendations based on long-term value and employee experience
- Drive end-to-end product delivery from discovery and requirements through design, configuration, testing, launch, and optimization
- Assess current systems and recommend improvements to maximize efficiency, adoption, and reporting capabilities
- Build and execute implementation plans, including discovery, design, QA/testing, deployment, and support using Agile methodologies
- Develop and execute detailed test plans and scripts to ensure high-quality solutions
- Act as the key liaison across teams to ensure product development aligns with requirements
- Manage Workday releases and upgrades, including testing and validation
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, including data quality considerations
- Partner with IT to ensure compliance with data security and privacy requirements
- Provide ongoing feedback to drive product adoption and continuous improvement
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with vendors and technology partners
- Support documentation, communication, and training initiatives
- Partner with Finance and IT to support SOX controls and documentation
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 12+ years of experience in business requirements, technology implementation, and process re-engineering
- 10+ years of hands-on Workday configuration experience (business processes, condition rules, custom fields, security)
- Experience managing full-cycle Workday Compensation, Talent, and Performance programs for global organizations
- 4+ years of experience leading or coaching technical or operational teams
- Strong understanding of HR systems and processes
- Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies
- Strong project management and process improvement skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership and cross-functional teams
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and drive clarity
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with data privacy and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HR technologies such as AI-driven tools, knowledge management, or case management systems
- Experience in product development within HR technology or custom application development
- Strong experience with Scrum or similar Agile methodologies
- Experience in management consulting environments
- Recent full lifecycle HR technology implementation experience
- Strong process orientation with experience across multiple project methodologies (Agile/iterative)
- Workday Certification and/or Lean Six Sigma certification
- Ability to influence without direct authority
- Familiarity with US and global data privacy laws, including GDPR and SOX compliance
- Strong customer orientation and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working in global organizations across regions such as the Americas, Europe, and Asia
