Scope of Work
We are looking for a Senior Tax Analyst to join our growing tax department to support our domestic tax process. This collaborative position will report directly to the Domestic Tax Director and work closely with the Tax Accounting Manager. The role will provide support for domestic tax compliance, consulting, and accounting (ASC 740). This position provides the individual with an opportunity to work in the dynamic environment of a Fortune company. We are looking for a self-starter who is not afraid to tackle large datasets, has strong verbal and written communication skills, and thrives working both independently as well as in a team environment. The position has the flexibility for the individual to make an impact on the organization, as many of the modeling and calculations will contribute to the company’s business strategies. There is an opportunity for the individual to provide input on improving tax processes. This individual will need to stay current with US tax concepts through training and research, as the US tax environment continues to evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review U.S. federal pro forma and consolidated returns by obtaining and analyzing applicable financial data and completing required forms
- Prepare and review state and local income and franchise tax returns by obtaining and analyzing applicable financial data, preparing state allocation and apportionment schedules, and completing required forms
- Prepare and review the calculation of quarterly tax estimates for U.S. federal, state local, and franchise tax purposes
- Assist in collecting and analyzing financial data for purposes of calculating the quarterly and year-end income tax provisions
- Perform research and prepare calculations relating to specific tax positions, issues, and special projects relating to domestic or international tax
- Assist in the coordination and management of U.S. federal, state local, and foreign income tax audits
- Assist in tax planning focused on minimizing business-related taxes
- Initiate and assist in the implementation of departmental process improvements utilizing key technologies such as Excel and Alteryx
- Develop entry-level associates such as tax interns or tax analysts
- May assist in due diligence data reviews during acquisitions and integration of new business
Professional Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
- Certified Public Accountant or Master of Science in Taxation certification preferred
- 3+ years of experience in either public accounting or industry accounting, with a focus in corporate taxation
- Strong tax technical and tax research skills
- Experience with direct tax software (e.g. Corptax, OneSource) preferred as well as experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and consolidation systems (e.g. Oracle Hyperion, OneStream)
- Ability to work Central Standard Time zone core business hours
