You will set up and execute failure analysis plans including product disassembly, as well as monitoring field returns for new issues on an ongoing basis. You will work with mechanical and electrical design engineers, quality engineering, product management, data analysis, operations, logistics, and engineering program managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on triage to reproduce reported issues on all field returns and coordinate further FA with relevant engineering team
  • Share FA findings with cross functional teams to drive containment and corrective action implementation into production, design, firmware
  • Coordinate and execute Failure Analysis test plans for special capture FA projects and EFFA programs
  • Document detailed FA steps and findings identifying root cause
  • Seek alignment with cross-functional team and prioritize based on severity, incidence, and impact of each failure mode
  • Provide feedback in issue reviews to determine next steps and ensure product performance, manufacturing and design issues are identified and risks mitigated
  • Summarize warranty trends and findings in regular reports for cross-functional distribution as part of overall objective of implementing learnings from previous field issues into the next gen design

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years experience in consumer electronics within a quality engineering or technician role
  • Thorough understanding of how to identify and root cause common mechanical and electrical failures in consumer electronics
  • Strong organizational skills and excited to work through complex issues that may not have an established process
  • Comfort handling sensitive electronic components
  • Strong desire to establish good working relationships within cross-functional teams
  • Views every failure as an opportunity to enhance company products
  • Experience using hardware lab equipment (optical microscope, multimeter, etc)
  • Preferred: Familiarity with: Snowflake, Jira, Looker, SOLIDWORKS, Altium
  • Preferred: Can read electrical schematics
