Our Customer is seeking a contract Senior Product Designer with a strong UX background to champion the strategic thinking and to help launch a new product for higher education. You'll partner closely with content, product, and engineering teams and be responsible for:

  • Creating new UX based on existing design components
  • You will be challenged in an organization that values vision, execution, and persistence. You will take ownership of the product by solving complex problems in simple, elegant ways.
  • Product Designers are embedded within product teams that are deeply collaborative, and each member is directly responsible for the team’s success.

This role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and create the user flows for full end to end experience
  • Create high and low fidelity flows & prototypes
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams throughout the product development process
  • Understand and advocate for user needs
  • Define key metrics to track success and business impact
  • Maintain clear team alignment around goals and priorities
  • Approach an open-ended problem space with vigor and clarity
  • Think holistically about the user journey and product ecosystem
  • Guide user research and testing, ensuring usability and product consistency
  • Be data-driven and iteratively improve the experience
  • Design for AI-driven teaching and learning experiences


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5–7+ years of UX design experience (senior-level)-with an online portfolio of relevant design work
  • Strong background in data/information design — ability to determine appropriate data hierarchies and visualizations.
  • Proficiency in Figma (design + prototyping).
  • Demonstrated experience working on AI-enabled products (especially involving LLMs, AI insights, or recommendations).
  • Bonus: Experience with UX research (especially if independently conducted).v
  • AI Experience Expectations: 1–2 years of AI-related experience is sufficient.
  • Experience can include: Designing with AI-infused tools (e.g., FigmaAI, Uizard, etc.)
  • Designing products that implement AI capabilities, especially for insights, personalization, or recommendations.
  • Confident communicator who can clearly articulate your process, approach, and rationale to others
  • Experience working in a collaborative team comprised of other designers, content strategists, product managers, and developers
  • Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders at a time, & knowing when to push for polish and when "good enough" is good enough
  • Prior experience defining and leading user research efforts
  • Awareness of design trends across web and mobile devices
  • Understanding the relationship of visual, interaction, and content disciplines
  • Expert proficiency in design tools such as Figma (preferred) and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with educational content (preferred)


Preferred:

  • Problem-solving – not just making things pretty, but solving real user and business problems in an environment that has dependencies / tech limitations
  • User research – experience running tests on your designs, being able to interpret findings and iterating your work based on collected data & themes
  • Time management – juggling multiple projects, knowing when to push for polish and when “good enough” is good enough
  • Cross-functional collaboration – working smoothly with product, engineers, and other designers
