Job description

Our Customer is a mission-driven not-for-profit organization that connects students to college success and opportunity. Founded in 1900, they were created to expand access to higher education. Today, the membership association is made up of over 6,000 of the world’s leading educational institutions and is dedicated to promoting excellence and equity in education. Each year, our Customer helps more than seven million students prepare for a successful transition to college through programs and services in college readiness and college success—including the SAT, the Advanced Placement Program, and BigFuture. The organization also serves the education community through research and advocacy on behalf of students, educators, and schools.


We are seeking a Senior Visual Designer on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in visual and interaction design, with a keen eye towards composition, color, and detail. They can work independently, self-manage, and find innovative ways and means to support the company goals. Responsibilities:

  • Concept, iterate, and implement branding and visual direction for across a range of cross-channel experiences. Help grow the brand visual identity system to ensure it meets the growing organizational and user needs.
  • Develop a variety of design solutions for organizational campaigns and initiatives – this includes print, digital, email, social media, events, and video.
  • Manage all phases of creative work from concept through completion, including creative strategy, design development, and digital file preparation
  • Collaborate with design colleagues on the implementation and expression of the company brand across all marketing, operational, and product development initiatives.
  • Lead the ideation and design of projects from start to finish within a team of designers.
  • Work hands-on within a fast-paced iterative design environment
  • Coordinate with Creative Directors and project management to ensure timely delivery of design artifacts.
  • Help foster an environment for collaboration by partnering with business and other creative units to align visual design approach with project goals, and the company brand.



Qualifications:
  • A portfolio of your work included in your application.
  • 6-8 years of experience in graphic design.
  • Hands-on experience in design at an agency or in-house team.
  • Advanced understanding of visual identity systems, hierarchy, typography, aesthetics, illustration, photography, and composition.
  • Experience working with brand level design systems.
  • Innovative conceptual thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Pixel perfect attention to detail is required.
  • Appetite for problem solving and a love for fast-paced environments.
  • Sharp design sensibilities, critical thinking, and an eye for details.
  • You have a solid understanding of UI design principles and best practices
  • Mastery of industry standard design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere) and Figma.
  • Motion design and photography experience a plus.
