Job description
Our customer is a leading global media and entertainment company that creates and distributes a large portfolio of content and brands across television, film, and streaming and is available in over 200 countries and territories and over 45 languages. Headquartered in New York, NY with more than 30 office locations in the United States.
We are seeking a Social Media Coordinator on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in NYC.
This role will help grow and engage audiences across the portfolio on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, and Pinterest. The ideal candidate is a hyper-organized, creative individual with a passion for social media, pop culture, and the worlds of food, home, and lifestyle.
Responsibilities:
- Build and engage social media communities across platforms, with a focus on emerging channels such as TikTok and YouTube
- Support category-specific initiatives to achieve business and content performance goals
- Manage day-to-day operations of YouTube channels, including video ingestion, optimization, organization, and thumbnail performance
- Create engaging, trend-driven content for TikTok and other social platforms
- Schedule and publish social media posts with strong attention to detail and timing
- Write compelling, on-brand copy to enhance audience engagement across platforms
- Identify and curate high-performing content from influencers and fan communities for reposting
- Monitor, moderate, and respond to social media conversations
- Share audience feedback and escalate potential issues or opportunities
- Review video content and series with a focus on social performance and optimization
- Capture live or native social content as needed
- Track and analyze emerging trends, creators, and platform features to identify growth opportunities
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Professional experience managing or supporting social media platforms
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, best practices, and audience behavior
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to create engaging, on-brand content
- Proactive and fast-paced work style with the ability to anticipate needs and work ahead
- Analytical mindset with a focus on performance, growth, and engagement metrics
- Strong understanding of digital content, communication, and marketing principles
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop fresh, executable ideas
- Problem-solving mindset with a solution-oriented approach
- Experience with photo and video editing tools, including basic design capabilities
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Facebook Creator Studio, Twitter Analytics, or similar platforms
- Flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, or similar creative tools
- Experience using social media analytics platforms such as Tubular or equivalent tools
- Background in content creation related to food, lifestyle, or entertainment industries
