We are seeking a Social Media Producer on a contract basis to help support our customer’s business needs. This role is remote and is based in the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone (preference for candidates located in New York, but not a strict requirement).
As a key member of their team, you will be responsible for finding, surfacing, and developing
original content for their official social media accounts.
The ideal candidate is deeply immersed in social media, internet culture, and design and art world trends, with a proven track record of community engagement and producing engaging social content optimized for the social media platform, who has sound judgment and instincts. Responsibilities:
Research & Content Development
- Contribute to the research and development of storytelling concepts on social media
- Identify, surface, and amplify trends across creative and cultural topics
- Collaborate with the team to support ideation of innovative content formats
Data Organization & Insights
- Maintain the social media content calendar
- Assist in the production of detailed monthly insights reports highlighting successes, challenges, and key learnings
- Analyze audience interests and behaviors to inform engagement strategies
Communication, Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Work collaboratively within the team and communicate effectively across functions
- Partner with external creatives and stakeholders (e.g., artists, creative collaborators)
- Recommend and implement improvements to content systems and processes
- Engage daily with the audience through comments and DMs
Content Production & Publishing
- Support best practices for producing regular series content
- Manage publishing and organization of social feeds
- Assist in developing original social content aligned with brand guidelines
- Curate creative contributors for the ongoing series
- Coordinate interviews, prepare creative briefs, and manage production timelines
- Provide feedback on commissioned work and ensure the final output meets quality standards
- Oversee feature production details (e.g., music selection, caption credits, fact-checking)
- Publish content across platforms, coordinating with both internal teams and external partners
- Experiment with creative tools and strategies to support account growth
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a creative role, with a focus on managing and creating content for social media platforms
- Proven experience managing social media accounts, including publishing across Reels, Stories, and Feed on social media
- Strong hands-on experience handling creative assets and executing content end-to-end
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects across leadership levels
- Experience collaborating with external creative and production partners
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional and global teams
- Experience producing creative content for international audiences
- Background in community management and rapid-response communications
- Strong copywriting and asset design experience for social media
- Solid grasp of social media trends, humor, and emerging internet culture
- Skilled at identifying cultural trends and turning them into relevant content
- Deep familiarity with the art and design world
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
- Strong experience working with spreadsheets and content organization tools
Preferred:
- Experience in visual storytelling within a creative department or agency
- Exposure to digital media brands or creative environments like Refinery29
- Familiarity with Figma is a strong plus
- Design background with an emphasis on clean, creative execution
- Experience in communications and content strategy for social media
We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
