Our Customer is a leading global, diversified information, services and media company with more than 360 businesses. Its major interests include various financial services, medical information and services businesses, and lastly, ownership in cable television networks such as A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime and ESPN; 33 television stations; 24 daily and 52 weekly newspapers; digital services businesses; and nearly 250 magazines around the world.
Our Customer is seeking a Software Developer – AI & Healthcare Data Systems on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This role could be 100% remote US or on-site for candidates local to Indianapolis.
This role will assist in the creation of the medical device database. This includes the writing, review, and testing of AI and manually generated code. This position is critical to ensuring the creation, reliability, and effectiveness of the medical device database, thereby contributing to a seamless user experience and robust product release cycle. The candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in Python, HTML and CSS, and JAVA.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and development of a robust, scalable, and optimized medical device database solution to support web applications and data-driven systems.
- Leverage Python to automate data workflows, create integration pipelines, and enhance back-end systems linked to front-end interfaces.
- Support the Software Developer to implement and refine user-facing features using HTML, CSS, and templating engines for seamless data presentation.
- Integrate modern AI-assisted development tools such as Cline and Cursor into daily workflows to enhance productivity, code quality, and testing efficiency.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, data integrity issues, and opportunities for database optimization or schema redesign.
- Assist in the development of comprehensive documentation of data models, architecture, and development processes, ensuring clarity for cross-functional teams.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, implementing indexes, partitioning, and other optimization techniques to ensure high availability and responsiveness.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, creating work instructions and training materials.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in MIS, CIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development using Python, CSS, and HTML.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of source code for applications written in Python, CSS, and HTML, including debugging proficiency.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Well-organized work habits with attention to detail.
- Experience in Java.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with Vibe coding.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as Cline and Cursor.
- Experience with database modeling.
