Job description
Our customer offers automobile, homeowners and other personal lines of insurance to members across 23 states and the District of Columbia. Our customer is looking for a Software Development Engineer Test on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This roles plans and conducts a wide range of quality assurance tests and analyses results to validate that all application products and services meet organizational standards and business requirements. All SDET IIIs perform test planning, test design and test execution on an agile team.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaboratively analyzes and reviews user stories and technical work products.
- Defines and manages test plans, strategies, results reporting and metrics.
- Collaborates to design test scenarios, scripts and data, then develops and executes the scripts.
- Identifies appropriate test strategy, a mix of manual, automation, and exploratory testing methods.
- Validates test results, records and researches defects.
- Coordinates and plans test runs within the sprint.
- Maps user stories to tests and test results.
- Prioritizes, defines and manages defect reporting and resolution.
- Creates and modifies detailed automated test scripts/modules following team defined coding practices and methodologies.
- Maintains solid knowledge and expertise in automated testing tools and techniques.
Must Haves:
- Three to five years of professional experience in the design, delivery, and support of complex projects with direct hands-on experience with the specific technologies used in the teams systems/solutions listed above.
- Experience in the practical application of QA test automation with an object oriented programming language (Java preferred).
- Can demonstrate practical application of API Testing tools (SOAP, RESTful, Rest Assured, etc.).
- Strong collaboration skills and can lead working sessions with the team.
- Experience in the practical application of SDLC and testing methodologies within Agile delivery.
- Experience in the practical application of test automation tools (Selenium, Rest Assured, etc.).
- Experience in the practical application of main automation design patterns.
- Experience in the practical application testing framework (JUnit, TestNG).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Hours & Location
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This position will be remitted while Covid restrictions are in place. The expectation is for the candidate be on site at our Customer’s Glendale, AZ office.
