The AWS Connect team is growing and looking for a Software Development Engineer who leads by doing, values diversity of thought and background, has a passion for solving problems at massive scale and brings their best self to work every day. You will be playing a crucial role in developing the next generation contact center, and get the opportunity to design and deliver scaleable, resilient systems while maintaining a constant customer focus.

Who Are You?
• You are passionate about building and contributing to large scale distributed Software Systems with significant experience using Java, javascript, C++ or C# including object-oriented design as a primary language.
• You will be building successful production software systems & the ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring them to life.
• As a senior developer on our team, you own code end-to-end from design to development, and work closely with other senior technical leaders within the team and across AWS.
• You will be contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
• You have a sound understanding of computer science fundamentals and practical industry experience, working across the stack with technology involving modern web, SOA, NoSQL databases, AI, ML, Big Data and more.

What Will You Accomplish?
• You will be responsible for designing system architecture, writing high quality code, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting, triaging software bugs, deploying and documenting reliable, scalable, and high-performance large-scale distributed software systems, for both customer-facing and internal end-user applications.
• Work on a service that will be used, directly and indirectly, by millions of customers and has a meaningful impact to their functions and interactions.
• You will know you are directly responsible for solving real customer problems.

• You will quickly become responsible for key components of the service, and drive what and how to build them.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
· Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, javascript, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
· 3+ years experience building successful production software systems.
· The ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring them to life.
· Sharp analytical abilities, proven design skills and a track record of delivery.
· Communication skills for both a technical and business audience.
· Experience leveraging object oriented design practices in Java, javascript, C++ and or .Net.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
· Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
· Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
· Experience in driving systemic operational improvements
· Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
· Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team
· Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
· Master's degree in computer science or related technical discipline
