Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking an LMS Software Engineer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Sunnyvale, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical bridge between training, instructional design, IT, and end users
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable digital learning environments with custom features, integrated data flows, and automated workflows
- Analyze system performance, data integrity, and user feedback using SQL and data analytics
- Design and implement AI-driven solutions to automate workflows and enhance learning experiences
- Analyze LMS usage, completion rates, and learning data to identify trends and recommend improvements
- Identify process bottlenecks and implement technical solutions to improve efficiency and scalability
- Prototype and deploy AI-driven solutions, including workflow automation and personalized learning experiences
- Translate learning experience and UX/UI requirements into scalable front-end solutions
- Build and maintain reusable Learning Management System (LMS) components
- Develop user-friendly interfaces for learners, instructors, and administrators
- Collaborate with Learning Experience Designers, Product Managers, platform teams, and backend developers to deliver integrated learning solutions
- Integrate APIs and synchronize learning data across systems
- Ensure accessibility and consistent user experience across learning platforms
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for learning applications and platform releases
- Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize application performance
- Manage learning content libraries within LMS platforms
- Monitor and optimize LMS platforms for usability, performance, and educational effectiveness
- Provide operational and technical support for learning content, technology, scheduling, and learner communications
- Support cross-functional initiatives and continuous process improvements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Strong experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong proficiency in SQL, data analytics, and Microsoft Excel
- Experience translating UX/UI requirements into scalable front-end solutions
- Experience integrating APIs and managing data flows
- Experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional stakeholder management skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in a data analytics role
- Experience with LMS platforms such as Percipio or SuccessFactors
- Experience with Appian low-code automation platform
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Agile methodologies, Qualtrics, Zoom, Microsoft Project, and Smartsheet
- Experience designing AI agents or AI-driven workflow automation
- Experience configuring or developing new application platforms
