Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.


We are seeking a Software QA Engineer 3 on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.


Role Overview:

  • This role will be onsite 5 days a week.
  • The engineer in this position will play a key role on the Equipment Engineering team in testing and qualifying software for manufacturing and test equipment used to produce Ion robotic systems, instruments, and accessories.
  • This engineer will develop, execute, and release software test plans, automated scripts, and other programs for testing.
  • The engineer will also analyze and draft test standards and procedures for manufacturing software qualification.
  • Working with other engineering staff, this engineer will assist in debugging and modification of software, analyzes test results, and recommends corrective action.
  • The position will require close collaboration with Equipment Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Quality Engineers.
  • The successful candidate is an individual with high energy, ownership, integrity, and accountability who will drive software testing and debugging, validation, upgrade, and maintenance activities across a variety of manufacturing equipment.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform testing and validation activities on manufacturing equipment.
  • Support existing production software and troubleshoot production line issues.
  • Implement best practices in software testing including automation.
  • Plan and coordinate multidisciplinary effort with various teams.
  • Strong documentation, communication skills.
  • Work independently to overcome roadblocks with some guidance.
  • Support other software-related duties as required.
  • Interface with a multitude of technical and support teams.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS or MS in CE, EE, CS or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional software testing experience.
  • Experience with Software validation for manufacturing equipment in the medical or other government-regulated industries.
  • Strong analytical, time management, organization, and communication skills.
  • Experience with automated device or product testing.
  • Experience with Business software (e.g. PLM System, JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet etc.)
