We are seeking a Software Quality Assurance Field Technician on a contract basis who will support the Customer’s business needs. This role is on-site in Atlanta, GA, with some travel to the metro area (25%).
35 hours per week (subject to a potential change to 40 in February)
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with customers, software development teams, hardware teams, and product owners to investigate and triage field issues
- Reproduce issues in a lab environment to validate defects and isolate causes
- Identify defect patterns and document testing results to maintain high software and dispenser quality
- Partner with customers and operations teams to analyze and evaluate field issues
- Analyze logs and stack traces to support defect debugging efforts
- Collaborate with software and hardware engineering teams to identify the root cause of field defects
- Support software release testing to understand and validate new dispenser features and functionality
- Provide support for innovation projects and engineering prototypes
- Develop subject matter expertise in the software and dispenser functionality
Skills and Qualifications:
- Computer Science degree or equivalent engineering degree with 3 years of industry experience
- Excellent knowledge of the software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools
- Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose resolutions
- Ability to work independently, raise issues, and take corrective action
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with a passion for quality processes
- Fluent in software QA metrics, operations, and statistics
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Field experience in troubleshooting issues and communicating with clients and customers
- Ability to design and execute issue reproduction scenarios
- Strong working knowledge of Linux, shell scripting, and Unix command line tools
- Strong working knowledge of Java and at least one other programming language
- Ability to use backend communication protocols such as APIs and web services
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Git or similar tools
- Experience working in a mixed software and hardware environment
- Willingness to travel to the metro area (25%)
