Job description

Our Customer is seeking a Software Release Manager on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role can be mostly remote, but might need to come into Oakland, CA, from time to time.



Responsibilities:

  • Manage software releases across multiple projects and deployment environments.
  • Oversee Autonomous Public Roads software releases and related release activities.
  • Coordinate and manage simultaneous releases with differing target uses and deployment requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with AI, software, firmware, hardware, DevOps, and operations teams.
  • Support release planning, scheduling, tracking, and execution processes.
  • Ensure release processes align with operational, technical, and safety requirements.
  • Work closely with geographically distributed teams, including teams based in California and Arizona.
  • Contribute to the development and manufacturing efforts of autonomous delivery robotics systems.
  • Maintain release documentation, tracking, and communication throughout the release lifecycle.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of release management experience.
  • Experience managing releases involving hardware, firmware, and software systems.
  • Experience supporting autonomous vehicle, robotics, or similar complex technical projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Git.
  • Strong working knowledge of Confluence and Jira.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent releases and priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience working with distributed technical and operational teams.
