Job description
Our Customer is a leading global, diversified information, services and media company with more than 360 businesses. Its major interests include various financial services, medical information and services businesses, and lastly, ownership in cable television networks; 33 television stations; 24 daily and 52 weekly newspapers; digital services businesses; and nearly 250 magazines around the world.
Our Customer is seeking a Software Test Engineer on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is hybrid in Carmel, IN.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test suites
- Perform functional, integration, API, SDK, web application, performance, load, and system testing
- Build and maintain UI automation frameworks and automation scripts
- Execute API testing to validate application functionality and performance
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects through resolution
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and improve software quality and test automation frameworks
- Participate in Agile development teams to support continuous testing throughout the software development lifecycle
- Prepare project estimates, task status updates, and testing reports
- Monitor testing progress against project timelines and resource plans
- Create work instructions, testing documentation, and training materials
- Support product releases by ensuring quality standards are met before production deployment
- Perform additional quality assurance and testing activities as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 1+ years of software development experience or 3+ years of automated software testing experience
- Experience testing REST and SOAP APIs
- Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Visual Studio and Selenium
- Experience writing SQL queries
- Experience using Eclipse IDE or similar development environments
- Understanding of UI automation frameworks
- Understanding of software applications developed in .NET, Java, or PHP
- Experience debugging application code
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) certification
