We are seeking a Space Planning & Analytics Professional on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote.
The Space Planning & Analytics (SP&A) role partners cross-functionally with business operations, category management, and local operations teams to optimize revenue per square foot across the organization’s real estate portfolio. This position manages database integrity, creates actionable insights from product and site-level data, and drives implementation of space optimization strategies. As a new role on a growing team, the consultant will both support existing processes and shape long-term strategy.
Responsibilities:
Insights Generation & Metric Creation (40%)
- Analyze space, operational, and financial data to uncover performance drivers.
- Develop new KPIs and metrics (e.g., profitability per cubic foot, SKU efficiency).
- Translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Build clear, presentation-ready deliverables and business cases.
- Partner with SP&A leadership to surface long-term strategic opportunities.
Implementation of Site Changes (40%)
- Support execution of space optimization initiatives (layouts, capacity pilots, utilization targets).
- Collaborate with local operations teams to test and scale improvements in storage, receiving, and put-away efficiency.
- Track and measure the impact of implemented changes (e.g., Revenue/Sqft, Profit Velocity).
- Identify opportunities for site investments (equipment, redesigns).
- Ensure operational processes are updated to sustain improvements.
Data Management & Analytics (20%)
- Maintain dashboards and ensure timely refreshes (e.g., Revenue/Sqft, Sales Velocity).
- Conduct regular data audits at the site and SKU levels; resolve discrepancies with operations and finance.
- Manage recurring uploads and streamline workflows.
- Automate reporting processes where possible.
- Provide ad hoc analysis to support evolving business needs.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 6-10 years in a data-driven consulting or analytics role, preferably with exposure to real estate, operations, or retail optimization, is preferred
- Analytical problem solving, data visualization, consulting-style storytelling.
- Project management, cross-functional collaboration, and operational problem solving.
- Strong SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and data cleaning/validation expertise are preferred
