Our client, a boutique, fully remote accounting firm where exceptional service, accuracy, and providing peace of mind to clients are top priorities, is seeking a highly experienced and detail oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join their growing Bookkeeping Firm.
This is a 3-month contract position to start, which is temp-to-perm eligible.
This role is remote with a preference for candidates residing in Texas.
This position will start at 12 hours per week with the goal of increasing over time.
This role supports multiple professional service clients, primarily software companies, and is responsible for the full delivery of contracted accounting services.

Position Overview
The Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for the fulfillment of client services, ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage full cycle bookkeeping for multiple client accounts
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables including reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements, and clean-up work
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure financial statement integrity
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related remittances
• Prepare and file sales tax and other regulatory reports
• Apply GAAP knowledge to ensure accurate reporting, including deferred revenue where applicable
• Execute high quality client services delivered timely and accurately
• Engage directly with clients as their subject matter expert and problem solving resource, including hosting meetings with an agenda and sending meeting recaps to clients
• Learn client business models and recommend solutions with input from the Division Manager
• Inform the Division Manager of client or workflow issues promptly and participate in resolution
• Drive the use of technology internally and for clients to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Follow and uphold internal systems, processes, workflows, documentation standards, and information security protocols
• Support year end processes and collaborate with external accountants as needed
• Self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities, manages priorities independently, and consistently meets deadlines without the need for constant follow up or micromanagement
• Collaborate effectively with the offshore team to coordinate workflows, review work for accuracy, provide guidance, and ensure timely completion of client deliverables

Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a multi-client environment
• Profit First certification and/or experience required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, including experience with deferred revenue
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Google Workspace
• Experience with Double formerly Keeper is a plus
• Degreed accountant preferred but not required
• Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Calm, approachable personality with a client service mindset
• Lifelong learner who stays current with industry trends
• Ability to grow to work 20 to 30 hours per week in a fully remote environment. Will start off at 12 per week for training and transition
