Job description

Travel is rare but it would be once a year, if at all.

If you are located in Houston, this role is 3x in the office a week. T/W/Th. Remote everywhere else

The Senior Outbound Marketing Specialist designs, builds and analyzes automated journeys targeted for business growth, lead generation, and retaining existing customers, using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This role regularly interfaces with a large, cross-functional team of marketing technologists, engineers, solution architects, marketing strategists, and digital marketing specialists to help bring digital experiences to life.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimizes use of Marketing Cloud functionality, to include email studio, journey builder, automation studio, contact builder, cloud pages and mobile studio.
  • Assists in designing and documenting solutions to leverage automation, dynamic content for personalization, data-driven segmentation, and other sophisticated Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities to maximize customer engagement and response.
  • Designs, builds and optimizes email templates, SMS messages, forms and landing pages
  • Develops and refines our approach to email and SMS marketing by using data, analytics, and research to evaluate current performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensures design and email layout is optimized, renders and functions correctly across multiple email clients, and is mobile friendly—strong attention to detail, QA, and visual aspects
  • Recommends and implements testing and conversion-driving strategies, with clear objectives and measures of success
  • Troubleshoots technical issues and complete quality assurance checks related to the Marketing Cloud.
  • Reports and analyzes email and SMS activity with a strong understanding of digital marketing KPIs to advice on optimization.

MINIMUM Requirements

Certification/License

  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator or Email Specialist) preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with a marketing automation tool or ESP (email service provider) with a minimum of two (2) years of work experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
  • Follows industry trends and passionate about technology and digital marketing.
  • An eye for strategy and optimizing programs to transform the customer journey for our families.
  • Strong grasp of marketing strategies that create personalized, end-to-end lifecycle journey for users across the digital experience from email and SMS to forms and landing pages
  • Experience with developing data extensions and building dynamic content blocks.
  • Robust analytical skills - quickly digesting large amounts of data, identifying trends, and pursuing the right questions to take action
  • Demonstrated project management skills including: planning resources, managing deadlines and objectives, delivering recommendations
  • Experience working with CDP a plus
  • Experience working with CRM (Salesforce preferred)
  • Working knowledge of the following programming languages: HTML, AMPscript, CSS, SQL, SSJS
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills (Tableau, Google Analytics)
  • Ability to offer strategic marketing solutions in response to data analysis
  • Ability to communicate across teams and upward to leadership
